IN OUR OWN WORDS - BOOKS BY WOMEN
AMADOR PUBLISHERS SUMMER BOOK BASH
JUNE 23, 2007 6:00 - 9:00 P.M
ART IS OK GALLERY
Free and open to the public

Amador Publishers, LLC is celebrating the publication of two astonishing new memoirs by women: EVA'S WAR 2nd Edition, and LAST OF THE NICE GIRLS from Green Phoenix Productions, an imprint of Amador Publishers, LLC. The books were produced by Zelda Gatuskin and Michelle Miller Allen respectively, women authors who "came up through the ranks" of the Amador press to become editors and publishers themselves.

The ART IS OK & COMPANY GALLERY (3301 Menaul NE, Albuquerque) will be the setting for the launch of the two memoirs. There will be presentations by Miller Allen and Gatuskin, remarks by Amador Publishers founders Harry Willson and Adela Amador, announcement of upcoming Amador projects, and special guests. Schedule: Reception at 6:00 p.m.; program at 7:00; party continues at 8:00 with music, art and refreshments for all. An exhibit of historic photographs compiled in the preparation of EVA'S WAR 2nd Edition will be displayed.

EVA'S WAR is a gripping personal story of survival, healing, and hope. In January 1945, Eva Krutein fled wartime Danzig (Gdansk, Poland today) ahead of Soviet troops with only her daughter and her wits for support. EVA'S WAR recounts a harrowing year of privation, defeat, moral quandary, personal growth and finally, healing. This Second Edition of EVA'S WAR includes Krutein family photos and a striking pictorial of Danzig/Gdansk pre- and post-war, assembled with help from a far-flung team of photographers.

Amador Publishers, LLC has joined forces with Green Phoenix Productions to bring to the public LAST OF THE NICE GIRLS, the posthumous memoir of Elizabeth McBride. From Hong Kong to Scotland to New Mexico and all points between, Elizabeth McBride's life provides us with insight and adventure as we see the British Empire and the post-Colonial world through her eyes. The author's quest for self-knowledge, coupled with her intense interest in and deep respect for all the cultures she encountered in the course of her widely-traveled life, have secured her place in the Amador Publishers fold.
